I have tried both. Apache solr search provides very nice and clean and fast search capability but I could not build facets search. Consider documentation for that is Search API via solr backend. I tried it and it worked.
Both modules uses different solr configuration XML files. Looks like if you want use one then you cant use another one. Does Search API have the same nice search functionality as Apache solr search does? I tried Search API search functionality, even used autocomplete option, but the experience wasn't same when I used apache search engine. So how do you uses thous modules or wich one do you prefere?
Can I build facets with apache solr search module or is search api capable search the same way as apache solr search module does?
