Hi,

What needs to be done to display dates localized after changing interface language? I created my custom date format "Y.m.d l" and used it to display a CCK field of type Date. I expected that when interface language is changed, the week of the day would be localized too (the .po file of my language contains week of day translations). Unfortunately it didn't happen. Am I missing something?

Hello everyone.

I've translated a module and uploaded and installed it to Drupal. Now, the PO file was removed permanently carelessly, how can I export the module's translation back to a PO file from Drupal?

I have setup a multilingual drupal site with greek as the default language(no prefix) and english with prefix - en.
I have language negotiation with path_prefix_only.
I have also enabled the language switcher block in one of my regions sidebar.

I have add the greek content for my stories, and i have made a view listing for my 10 more recent stories.
Everything is working ok, when i am viewing a story node which is translated in both greek and english.

I am new here and also new to Drupal. Need your advice.

We are developing multilingual a site. The default language is English and most of the languages will be translated from English. However, we have language like Ukrainian which make sense to translate from Russian, so not translated pages will still remain in Russian. Most of Ukrainians can read Russian better than English; That may be also true for some Arabic languages with French as a second language.

I am quite confused with how to provide translation for a custom module I am writing.

I am using t() for every string that the module outputs. For example:

print t('Your booking has been submitted');

Now I need this module on an italian site. So, I installed the locale module, added the "italian" language, and went to admin/config/regional/translate/translate, expecting to see my strings available here to translate. However, I can't see my module's strings in the list.

I have problem with site translation. I use drupal 6.0 version and i changed default language to Estonian and after that i don't have an field to translate Estonian language (now i have 2 english fields)[see screen 1]

Im pretty new with Drupal and internationalization. I recently installed and set up both on a functioning site with a gmap on some of the pages. After creating a translation for one of the pages with the gmap the translated version doesn't have the map but the original version still does. I am completely stumped how to fix it.

Yesterday on site www.forniture-alberghiere.net (done with drupal 6.14)I have reinstalled ubercart 2, because I was doing the mistake to install it with ecommerce module of drupal, so I have deleted both of them in well way, and I have reinstalled ubercart. going to configure ubercart (it was also first just translated also in polish language) then I find thse fields:
Interfaccia incorporata Nazwa
/admin/content/node-type/product/fields
Tipo di contenuto Nazwa

(I used simple content types to explain my problem these are not the ones I need, I can't use a different structure or change the settings of these content types.)

Example : I have a Content Type 'Person' and a Content Type 'Country'.

Content Type 'Person' is language indepent.
Content Type 'Country' is language depent. (Dutch and French)

Content Type 'Person' has a relation with Content Type 'Country'. ( content type Country is a field of Person)

Content type Person also has a field 'Continent'.

I have a problem with importing of translations. I mean when I want to import file .po with polish translations I receive message:
"39 translation strings were skipped because they contain disallowed HTML”
I want to underline that I have line in .po file with system of coding utf-8. I am sure, that problem is because of polish non-unicode signs, but utf-8 should eliminate this problem.

Is there anybody who knows how to resolve this problem?

Hello everybody!
On my site, configured in Brazilian Portuguese, is appearing in the top menu item and only this, some strange characters when I use accents, cedilla, etc.. (ç, ã, á, etc.).. As I said, only the top menu, in other areas of the site, not.
I also found out that this problem is only in the 'theme' I am using, the different themes that come installed by default.
How can I fix it?

Im using Organic groups and content profiles. I need to show the teaser of the members content profile on the og group node. I can't figure out the right combination of relationships and arguments.

User type views only allows field type display and is not getting the group node because of automatic alias.

Hi everybody. I want to use both english and bengali in my site. I want not to change word only. but whole sentence. let explain more below

below list are bengali words of english words

I = ami
eat = khai
rice = vat

normally if we write I eat rice and in bengali it show ami khai vat

but the real bengali is ami vat khai so how cat I do that with grammatical re-arrangement.

I had create a taxonomy vocabulary in french and created some content with this vocab. After that, installed the module i18n and to be more "friendly", I changed the terms from french to english and choose "Localized" for the voc. So, I went to "translate interface" and translated these terms to french. After, I tried with the term (URL taxonomy) but in different language I saw all the nodes and also the term doesn't changed, remained the same for both languages.
Where is the problem?

I've got a multi-language site working with the Garland theme, but when I attempt to use a different theme, my language links break. They just don't include the language code in the link. Obviously the theme is interfering with the links generated, but I'm new to themes, and not sure where to look to fix it.

I have found out that it is not possible to translate messages when there are "\n" in the text.

The "\n" will be removed from the msgid string when the po-file is imported.
In the translation interface (in site-building) you can see after using the string that the string with "\n" is untranslated.

I first thought that this was not important,

only changing drupal/misc/drupal.js replacing all the "\n" by "<br />"
and doing the same in the systems/translations/misc.po

But this is also used in the modules/parts:

I'm looking at possibly trying to write a new module for drupal which will do the same task as global translator in Wordpress.

I know drupal is a lot more complicated than wordpress but it should still be possible.

Would anyone be interested in a module of this type - I don't want to waste my time looking into it if people don't want it. Has something like this been tried before?
