Packt Publishing is pleased to announce the release of a new Drupal book called Flash with Drupal, authored by Travis Tidwell.

Bonnier Publications A/S publish magazines in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Holland. All the magazines have websites, some of which are quite significant and have a large amount of traffic and reasonable revenue, while others are simple presentation sites. Altogether Bonnier Publications (BP) has more than 40 sites in five different languages.

For the last few months myself and quite a few community members have been working on a larger vision for our beloved Drupal documentation. It has taken quite a bit longer than I had hoped, but I want to put out a draft of an initial "roadmap" for documentation that outlines our bigger issues and an approach to tackling them. I've attached a document which has everything we've hammered out so far in a 10 page document along with three appendices.

After winning control of the New York State Senate for the first time in almost 50 years, the Democratic party turned to Advomatic to quickly deploy a new website powered by Drupal. There were many challenges to be overcome, and their requirements pushed the envelope in some areas such as permissions and work flow. Drupal is excited to announce that we have 18 amazing projects in this year's Google Summer of Code. This is the fifth year that Drupal has participated in the program, bringing the total investment made by Google in Drupal through the SoC to over $400,000.

Improving the usability of Drupal is very important. Yesterday, I wrote about the progress that was made on Drupal 7 usability -- the community has made a ton of incremental improvements, while Mark and Leisa have been preparing mockups and wireframes that provide significant over-arching improvements to Drupal's ease of use. Combined, I believe these efforts could make Drupal 7 a great release.

The winners of the Horizon Interactive Awards were unveiled last week. In this eighth annual competition over 2000 sites were reviewed from 32 countries. The participants were judged on their creativity, user experience, and technical merit in media ranging from Web sites to DVDs. Several Drupal sites brought home awards, including those from Palantir.net, studio:module, and pingVision.

I am interested in overriding the 'Add new comment' text in the links array at the bottom of nodes. In a module I created a function:
mymodule_link_alter(&$node, &$links) {
    $links['comment_add']['title'] = 'Replacement text';
}

Which worked, but the replacement text now appears on the page with taxonomy terms (not a link) as well as in the links array after $content. How can I prevent that from happening (some kinda conditional)?

Heya guys

I'm setting up a new Drupal website. I can't find a module anywhere that can look up a postcode to check if you are in a serviceable area. For example a pizza shop will only deliver a certain distance right? So you pop in your post code and it validates the distance and says yes/no.

Any thoughts? To be honest I wouldn't know were to start with this!

In my site i would like to have google advertisement in this manner:

a) Every time i create a page content, i need google text advertisement to appear in the down of my page content.
Some things like this: Google Ads: Animal Ball fruits

b) The second type of advertisement i would like to display is again the text but in the block... It means a set of google advertisement in the block.
Some things like in every sites we can see the advertisement in the right side bar

I managed to get my site up about and working with the css. The problem I am running into now is that I already have my images going to this path, images/filename.png but noneof them are showig up

I saw somewhere that suggested I do, ="<?php

?>/images/filename.png

But I have alot of image splashed through out the site. Isn't there an easier way to do this? Perhaps some global prefence that sets the images directory as the default in the theme?

I am converting my site over and already have my own stylesheets, base.csss and master.css.

I noticed that drupal uses this to call the stylesheets <?php

?>

What and where is that style calling?

I'm rubbish with CSS, especially trying to find out why something works in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, but not in IE7 (booo! hiss!). I've modified one of those Twitter widgets and stuck the code inside a block. It shows up fine on the aforementioned browsers, save for IE7, where all I see is a gray blob, and the tweets. Could someone look at this code and tell me what (everything?) I did wrong? LOL...

Hello all,
I am in the process of making a module for split testing. I want to populate a combo box with all the pages that have been made by the user (through pages content creation, or any other pages that exist in the drupal website). Kindly tell me what would be the query if i need to bring this data from database. if it could be brought from any other locaiton, kindly let me know. This is highly critical task and requires urgency. therefore a quick response will be really appreciated.

Is there any module for it?

I'm new to drupal and trying to get my feed aggregator to update feeds automatically. It says it needs cron to run maintanance tasks but I cant really figure out how to do that. So, will feed ag. update automatically with poormanscron?
