Early last year, around the time of DrupalCon San Francisco, Packt Publishing approached me to serve as technical reviewer for a book. Several Microsoft Word documents and 7 months later, the dead trees edition of Drupal Theming Cookbook by Karthik Kumar, arrived at my doorstep, complete with an acknowledgement of my work inside the front cover.

Drupal has a great reputation for serving the sphere of [SNS] Social Networking Sites. At the heart of any SNS is a robust user profile experience. Think of Facebook and the rich information that a user can enter about themselves. Over at LinkedIn its somewhat similar in approach but the information is quite different and even used in different ways.

Inforuptcy is building an online platform to become the next generation marketplace to facilitate complex sales/auctions for particular industries. We’re based in Los Angeles and were looking for people with vision and passion to join and improve our team locally as we solve hard problems.

We use Drupal on the front end, so we are primarily looking for a senior Drupal ninja. Our solution also leverages Alfresco and Perl, so experience with these technologies is a huge plus, though not required.

Did you see, the Chicago DrupalCon website launched!? After conducting an open RFP process the Drupal Association hired us to build the site, with Palantir.net handling theming and content. It's been fun working on this project since it's so important to the community to create a solid, reusable platform for future conferences.
