In Drupal 6, AHAH powered forms are made easy. Easy in a sense that it is built in using the #ahah property. With the AHAH powered forms, it allows you to manipulate form elements on the fly without using a single line of Javascript code. However, as easy at it sounds, it is really time consuming and painful to use since you have to write callbacks for each AHAH enabled form element. Think about maintaining that code! Don't worry, AHAH Helper is here to alleviate the pain. Basically, this module simplifies the use of #ahah property.

I hope someone from you can help me a little bit.

I have a multistep form with AHAH enhanced elements (with AHAH Helper). All runs fine.

Now I have to insert a new form element (a select) with AHAH. This is no problem, I render the new form element with drupal_render in the form definition directly in the output of the wrapper-div and build the form element before.

This new element have AHAH functionality too and THIS doesn't function. There is no reaction when I click in the select.

So I'm using the ctools wizard to create a form. Works great!

Essentially its an insurance like form where you can choose your Year - Make - Model of a car.
On page 2, I have an AHAH enabled field (year). When you select a year, the AHAH callback triggers and renders a second select box on the form. This is where it gets wierd.

The second select box is also AHAH enabled, but if you select a value from it nothing happens. I'm a little puzzled over why this isn't working.

Whenever I'm creating an AHAH form in Drupal I use the AHAH helper module. It just makes the process so much simpler and cleaner so I can worry about the form logic and not the AHAH part.

The only "problem" I've had so far is if you embed a view in the form markup and that view has a pager, the pager links don't work because they are linked to the ahah_helper URL instead of the original $_GET['q'].

I will be giving a talk about creating AHAH forms in Santa Cruz soon and will be using AHAH Helper in the presentation. I may end up doing the same one at DrupalCon SF as well.

I would like to be able to update (replace) the content of separate (disjoint) elements in a form based on an AHAH callback. I was just reading "Pro Drupal Development" 2nd Ed. p269 and there is a fleeting reference to a 'selector' attribute in the #ahah arguments. It doesn't rate a mention on the forms_api_reference. I'm just wondering if there are any examples about that actually show how to use it?

It seems that ahah functionality isn't working at all in my drupal site. I have tried the simplest examples of ahah forms, and doesn't work. I tried ahah helper module, and there's a simple demo there - doesn't work. when I submit the form it reloads the page, without submitting the form. nothing happens. I have no idea where to start.

i'm trying to get ahah running in the form for my custom ctools content type, which is shown at configure pane.
My goal is to provide a form with textfields and a "add textfield"-button, so the user is able to add new textfields.
After getting no results so far i began wondering, if maybe the modal dialog is not compatible with ahah?

When validating an #ahah submission, does Drupal automatically verify that the instance of the form element (button, dropdown, whatever) allegedly responsible for initiating the request actually had an #ahah property?

I am thinking of the use case where an element may or may be assigned an #ahah property during form construction dependent on certain conditions.

I'm trying to call a JavaScript (the initialization for ui.tabs.js) after an #ahah event replaces a set of data but have been unable to get it to trigger after the data itself has loaded. I know the call is working because i've tested with .click().
