Hi,
I am a website owner that now has hired a company to convert my website to Drupal. We are today using vBulletin as forum platform on the website. We are thinking about bridging Drupal and vBulletin (user database, login etc). That should work OK, but we are thinking about having facebook connect as an alternative login for our users.

Does anyone of you know if we bridge Drupbal and vBulletin, and then adds FB-connect to Drupal, our users also will be logged in at vBulletin?

vbulletin 4 was released late last year and there seems to be a consensus that it's a disappointment. Jelsoft (the company that brought us the original software) was bought out and the current developers are, imo, more concerned with quick turnover than delivering a solid project. This thread is not to bash the current programmers, as I'm sure they work very hard. But since vb4 comes with a CMS (a buggy, feature-anemic one at that), now seems like the perfect time for Drupal to take the charge.

I want to develop forum module in Drupal which contains all the features available in vbulletin forum.

Below are the some of the features required...

1. Create forum group
2. Send email notification on new forum
3. Send email notification for new forum topic
4. ability to move, delete, archive forum
5. ability to assign forum moderator
etc...

So far I have used core forum, advanced_forum, ACL modules.

Please let me know what are other contributed modules help me to build forum functionality similar to vbulletin forum,

How much would it cost to update the vBulletin module to work with VB 4?

This is a very popular feature on many forum sites, it seems to make users feel a lot more 'connected' to the community.

I have a Drupal 6.x site working correctly. I've also installed vBulletin (4.x version) to the /forum directory in my Drupal install (a new folder I created specifically to hold all the vBulletin files). The vBulletin install went smoothly however after I installed I tried to access the vBulletin forum by going to /forum and it just redirects to my Drupal home page. If I try going to any of the vBulletin files (index.php, etc) it redirects to the Drupal site's home page.

I apologise if this is in the wrong place, but it seemed the most appropriate forum.

I'm currently developing a site that requires close integration between Drupal and vBulletin. For the sake of being able to use the latest Drupal build at all times I've gone with the Drupal vB module that allows the syncing of accounts. It's pretty damn great and I'm very impressed but there's just one piece of functionality I'd like to include.

i've developped a module to get some information from my vbulletin forum, and to put it in a specific block...

the module work great, and print the specific information...

but the problem is that vbulletin is using the "windows-1256" encoding...

but drupal is using "utf-8"...

so the information that i got from the vbulletin look like this:

or this : (ÊÌÑÈÉ)

so how can fix this issue?

I love Drupal's native forum esp. after adding advanced forum. However, my website needs much more functionality with the forums than it offers. Well, it needs it out of the box as I'm not a programmer.

I would just a soon require two different logins but that according to the owner is out of the question.
