Hello there,

i am trying to develop one module where i want to change the value of form element on action of same form element change/event through ahah.

Any body have code snap of such requirement ?

Note: I don't want to render html through ahah wrapper.

In Drupal 6, AHAH powered forms are made easy. Easy in a sense that it is built in using the #ahah property. With the AHAH powered forms, it allows you to manipulate form elements on the fly without using a single line of Javascript code. However, as easy at it sounds, it is really time consuming and painful to use since you have to write callbacks for each AHAH enabled form element. Think about maintaining that code! Don't worry, AHAH Helper is here to alleviate the pain. Basically, this module simplifies the use of #ahah property.

When validating an #ahah submission, does Drupal automatically verify that the instance of the form element (button, dropdown, whatever) allegedly responsible for initiating the request actually had an #ahah property?

I am thinking of the use case where an element may or may be assigned an #ahah property during form construction dependent on certain conditions.

I was trying to build a form with the feature of "ahah".

Requirement:
I want to developed the dependable drop down menu upto three level.

Menu: 1 (with Ahah) -> Menu: 2(with ahah) -> Menu 3 (result)

Now once i tried to develop the code, i can find the drop down (menu 2) with use of ahah.

Now when i use the same ahah form element for the menu: 2 (the ahah form element is build on the Menu 1 return code), its not working.

Do anybody have such developed code or reference of such code ?

I have a form which returns results with AHAH. I have a designer that wants to rebuild the form completely with Javascript for those who have it. When the user clicks of something, the form needs to submit. The problem is that we can't use document.formname.submit(). If we submit(), we don't get the pretty AHAH functionality. I am writing a module now that includes script that tries to do this. Does anyone know how to give any DOM element the ability to submit an AHAH request on click?

I made some AHAH form elements in my custom AHAH form. Everything works great, but I can't trigger AHAH on "date_select" element. On basic "select" element it works like a charm. Any thoughts?
(Nothing happens even when I put "date" or "date_popup" instead of "date_select").

Altering an AHAH form element

Usually when I want to alter a form button i just hack into the form using hook form_alter.

I have a case where i want to change buttons of a form created by the filefield/imagefield modules. It's the two buttons 'Upload' and 'Remove' that are created via AHAH.

Any Idea how I can do that without hacking into the filefield module itself?
