I've used actions and triggers to send an email on content creation but know very little else about them and nothing about rules.

Can any combination of rules, actions, or triggers accomplish this?

I have a content type that contains (among other things) a user supplied email address and a integer field stored in a list box.

If the integer list box is changed to a certain value (in my case, 2) I would like to send an email automatically to the email address sent in the user field.

i tried do make a rule, which gives the sending user a message on the side "Your message has been send"..... I set it up in Rules but nothing happend after i trief several tests with several accounts.

Hi all,

I am using Rules and Actions to send emails to my users (and administrators) when new accounts are created/unblocked, etc. Problem is, the user module continues to send its defaults. Is there any way I can stop the user module from sending those emails?

Reason for my needing to do this is I need to output content profile fields in my emails and the user tokens don't support it.

Within the triggers listed for the Users tab the trigger "After a user has logged out" has a message underneath stating no available actions are available. All the other triggers in this tab have a drop-down list from which I can choose custom actions. I created these actions earlier under the Actions, "Make a new advanced action available", section. The custom actions created include sending an email, sending a message, and redirecting to a specific URL.

I installed the Rules module, and created a new rule as follows:

ON event After saving new content
IF Created content is promoted to frontpage
AND Created content is News story [this is one of our node types]
AND Created content is published
AND Textual comparison [language = English]
Here is what it should do:
Send a mail to an arbitrary mail address - And I've put in my email address (actually two addresses separated by a comma)

Hi all,

I am facing a problem in which i need to send email to particular user..

consider there are 2 taxonomy terms like 'maths' and 'science'....And i have created two roles(maths head,science head) who are able to review the postings respectively..

when a user creates a new page , i am forcing him to select any of the category..(maths or science)

If a user post a page for 'maths' then the 'maths head' should get mail.And same for science also..

Hi All,

I have a form built in CCK. I'm using Rules to send emails after someone submits the form. Sometimes they get sent without issue and other times as soon as you submit the form a message comes up saying :

"Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists."

Any idea why this happens? So far it's not very reliable nor does that message give me much to go on.
