Diggit Drupalextras

Ive made a folder in my Drupal installation called 'hosted' so I can temporarily put clients websites their to show them. So a client could see their site at mysite.com/hosted/client1. At the moment it works fine if you type in the url of the site but if you type in this mysite.com/hosted/ you get a page not found error.

Is their a way I can stop Drupal generating this page so you get the unstyled view of the folder with all its contence (starts with 'Index of /')?Ive removed the index.html file from my MAMP installation so my localhost works like this. Is this safe to do?

I'm using multisite to host my client sites.

During development stage, I use subdomain to host the staging site, e.g. client1.mydomain.com.
And here's how it look under the SITES folder:
/sites/client1.mydomain.com

When the site is completed and ready to go live, I created another folder for the actual domain, e.g. client1.com.
Hence:
/sites/client1.com

The URL for my Drupal home page shows as http://www.mysite.com/mysite/ in the browser address bar and I would like it to show as simply http://www.mysite.com

A bit of background - my site is installed on my server in /home/public/mysite as opposed to at just in /home/public/

This may sound like a dumb question, but here goes:

I have just installed my first ever Drupal site. I have added a theme etc. with no major issues.

My question is this - should my core Drupal files all reside in a folder called "drupal", which resides on the root of the public directory.

example: www.mysite/drupal

It worked and I had several test sites I was practicing with but today Quickstart quit working. I re-installed everything. No improvement: the drush create command makes empty website folders -- nothing inside the folders (/websites/"mysite.dev" contains nothing).

I removed every last file and directory from the drive I am using. I searched for stray files and eliminated everything I could find. (It is a new drive and I removed all files from it --it's MT)

I'm using drupal 6.19 on apache server (123-reg).

I intially used their one click installation (I am a newby!) which installed everything in a subdirectory. However I want the site to sit in the root directory and get rid of the /drupal extension i.e. just have www.mysite.com not www.mysite.com/drupal.

I've installed Drupal 6.x on my Godaddy Linux server.

The directory for this particular installation is:

First, excuse my English.

Second, sorry, I know this subject has a lot of answers in this forum, but no answer helped me.

So, I have a multi-site installation like:

tests.mysite.com
mess.mysite.com
develop.mysite.com
prod.mysite.com

All those subdomains are pointing to the SAME directory '/var/www/htdocs'

Everything works fine, but for each site I have to put the subdirectory 'drupal' in the path.
