I'm still experimenting with writing small custom drupal modules.

I've maid a small module that gives the user a simple form after a certain action. All works fine, but after the form gets successfully submitted, the user gets to see the same form again.

I don't want that. When a user clicks the submit button, and form passes validation, i want a message to be shown to the user like "Thanks for submitting this form!" or something.

I've noticed that hook_submit's return value does nothing, So i was wondering how i could fix this.

I have created a module and a form. The form is presented properly, including the data from the records it manages (using the xxx_load function and URL wildcards). The form validate function gets called properly. But my submit function is not called. I do have a submit element in the form, but in the HTML rendered page it shows up as a submit-type button with the name 'op'. My suspicion is that this is the reason my submit function is not called. Furthermore, when I press the submit button, the same form is shown again (with changed data), even if I add a 'redirect' element to my form.

I have built my first form api module. A user can select (a currency) from radio buttons and upon submit return to the previous product. In the modules submit hook I call a web service, write a couple of $_SESSION vars and redirect.

The problem is this module behaves differently in different settings.

On my wamp dev box everything works as expected.

On the linux production server everything works fine for the power user. However, it falls apart for anonymous users (I only have anonymous + power user).

After submitting a form, I want my users to be redirected to another form if a checkbox is checked. The drupal path I want to redirect to is 'node/add/organization' . So far my checkbox displays fine. I am using hook_form_alter() to add the new checkbox field and include my custom function in the $form['#submit'] array of functions.

I am working with a simple form and want to make a submit function, but I don't know how to make sure that my function will be called when I push the submit button I have defined for my form.

I have a script that submitts values from a form to itself. It is processed on the server side and requires alterations to certain database information. after it has inserted the new information to the database I then want to submit the form to a third party and have the user who submitted the form go to that third party. Basically I want to database information on my server and submit the posts to another. Has anyone done this before with the 6.x forms api?

Hi,
when I use jquery function ('#form-id').trigger('submit') on some drupal form, (for example create article form) it works. But when I create my custom form with Form API, it doesn't.
I have very simple submit button:

Submitting form manually by clicking on button works.
I have no idea, where can be problem.
Can anybody help?

I wrote a synergy module that enables you to create webforms (webform module) with Campaign Monitor subscriptions (campaign_monitor module). I dev'ed it locally via OSX MAMP an it works flawlessly enabling you to dictate the 'email' and 'name' fields to be used with Campaign Monitor on Webform submission, all within each webform node's config settings. Sweet. It basically only hooks form_alter and calls some Campaign Monitor functions at the end. Easy! I wish...

I have a custom form that has values which are incremented if a user has entries of a sort or is included in an entry.
basically the form has dynamically created inputs of ['band'+$bandnum] and has an array called $created of bools that has a 0 if not created by user and 1 if created by user.
What I need to know: Is there a way to pass information collected in the form to the submit function? I.E '$bandnum' the number of inputs for this field and the array '$created' for whether that entry was created by them.
