Forum taxonomy term not visible to user creating topic

I am creating forums and have two roles (main admin and officers) with the permissions to create and administer forum topics. When I am logged in as the main admin and create a topic from within the forum, the forum taxonomy field is present with a drop down to select the forum the topic is to go in. The correct forum is preselected. However when I am logged in as officer the taxonomy drop down list does not show at all. Hence the topic is not going to the correct forum. I figure it is some simple permission problem but I have stewed on this for some time and still can't figure it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Running 6.19. All modules up to date.

Forum topic not visible in forum after create but in taxonomy

I upgraded from 6.19 to 7.

All my forum topics are there and everything is
working fine except "add topic"

If create an topic its not showing up in the forum.

If i visit /taxonomy/term/21 then the topics are visible.

If i go to forums/21 then there not.

The weird thing is that i created an topic after the update
(only couple of modules activated) and it worked fine,
but now it dont !?

Any idea ?

Hi,

I have a forum and using the Taxonomy Access Control module I've done some permission adjustments. In some forums, only a specific role (say advanced users) can post forum topics, but everybody can comment in every forum. This works great.

The problem is, even if the authenticated user cannot post to a forum she will see the "Post new Forum Topic" link on top of that forum (under the forum title). I want to get rid of these links if the user cannot create a forum topic in that forum. How do I accomplish this?

I have a forum where i only want to allow users to create a forum topic in a specific forum but not go back and change what forum it is in.

for instance, if a user creates a forum topic in "introductions", I don't want to be able to go back and edit the post into some other forum.

But i cannot get the "updated" "new forum topic" unless i click the clear cache button.

I am using Drupal 6.x updated to the latest version 6.13 but I do not think it has anything to do with the version. I am using the core Forum and Taxonomy modules.
