Hi All,

I set up Drupal 6.x a few days ago (local machine only) and want to enable the new user verification email feature. I set up the mail server info in php.ini (including SMTP username, password and alternate SMTP port number) but I get the following error:

warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550-adsl-150-238-12.tys.bellsouth.net (Stephanie-PC) [72.150.238.12] is 550 currently not permitted to relay through this server. in C:\xampp\htdocs\drupal\includes\mail.inc on line 193.

I tried forgot password after installing drupal.
I got the following error once i gave the email id
warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for p_ramesh_babu@hotmail.com in C:\wamp\www\drupal69\includes\mail.inc on line 193.

Hi I am using workflow and actions modules.I would like to send mail when the state of the workflow changed.But i was not able to send the mail.I am getting the below error.

* warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for kitti@gmail.com in C:\webserver\Apache2\htdocs\drupal\includes\mail.inc on line 193.
* Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site administrator if the problem persists.

I have changed smtp & smtp port in php.ini.but it does not work.

Version: Drupal 7.4
Server: Local XAMPP installation with Mercury running

Issue: I have made two webforms, one for "contact us" and one for "request a quote". I have drupal installed locally and I need to test the e-mail notifications that are sent when someone submits a form. When I log out of admin account and fill out a from and click submit, I get the following error:

At the end of install wizard, I got a warning:

warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for user@abc.com in C:\sites\williesite\includes\mail.inc on line 193.

I did not recall ever being asked for specifying a smtp server and its port druing install. Many open source tools ask for it during install.

So, I deleted the install and did another new install but still unable to specify it.

I am new to drupal. I have an e-commerce site hosted on 1&1 and I can't get the site to send out email.

I have tried the SMTP Authentication Support and PHPMailer module to setup the 1&1 SMTP server. After a lot of reading on this forum and calling tech support, I realized that 1&1 just does not support SMTP. They seem to block SMTP from sites hosted on their servers. (My site can send mail when hosted on my local machine however).

I am learning Drupal. I used Lynda.com tutorials to install WAMP and Drupal 6.2 onto my own PC. When I go to set up and test new accounts with a user name and e-mail address, I get the message

I did look for answers to this situation on several sites, but it wasn't getting me anywhere.

I am new to drupal. I have recently installed drupal 7.9 on my windows server 2003. whenever i create a new user it tries to send a mail but it returns with a error

Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated in DefaultMailSystem->mail() (line 76 of C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\drupal7\modules\system\system.mail.inc).
