Hi
I'm a webmaster/webdesigner starting to switch to Drupal more frequently for the various projects that come my way. I love the fact that I can run the various websites from a multisite installation on my local development platform. Now my question is related to making things live. Obviously it's much easier if I have one single great hosting plan with this multisite install of Drupal and run all the websites from that place. That way if I have to update some modules, I do it once for all the websites.
Unfortunately since I develop artist websites, each project that I do belongs to a different person. Most of them do not own a hosting plan yet, so I have two options:
- Either tell them to buy a hosting plan on which I then later put their single-site drupal website.
- Or buy a large hosting plan myself, put the entire drupal multisite install on there with all the websites I do, and just ask my clients to pay me for the hosting?
Obviously having one place to manage all the websites and updates together is ideal for me. However maybe managing all those websites in one place isn't the best idea? Give me your thoughts.
Please help out. :) What would YOU recommend?
Option 1: "each-client-separate-hosting" scenario (Multiple hosting plans, each with a seperate installation of Drupal),
