I'm confused about whether or not Drupal 7 supports OpenID for Google and/or Google Apps accounts.
I've tried to add Google and Google Apps accounts as OpenID identities, but neither one works. Looking through the forum and bug discussions, I'm having trouble tracing the status of the feature.
Should Drupal work with a regular Google account? Should it work with a Google Apps account?
So far, here's what I've been doing:
On the "OpenID identities page", if I use https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id (with HTTPS) as an ID, I immediately get the following error: "Sorry, that is not a valid OpenID. Ensure you have spelled your ID correctly."
If I use http://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id (with HTTP), I'm sent to Google, I click the "Allow" button, and I'm sent back to the "OpenID identities" page. However, the ID has not been added to the list of identities. No error appears.
Is there any way to make this work?
