I have enabled OpenId on my site and having problems using it. Here's the scenario:
1. Go to login page
2. Click on "Log in using OpenID"
3. In the Log in screen, enter my OpenId and click "Log in"
4. I am forwarded to the "Create new account" page and a username and email address is requested. I enter it and click "Create new account"
5. Drupal prints the following message:
Once you have verified your email address, you may log in via OpenID.
Your password and further instructions have been sent to your e-mail address.
6. The "Account Details" email is sent to my address along with a username & password
7. I login to Drupal using this username and password - login works and I am in!
At this point I logout and close the browser, then reopen it - just to make sure I start with a clean state. Now I try to login using my OpenId:
8. Go to login screen
9. Login using Open Id
10. I am again brought to "Create new account" page and asked for username and email-address. In other words I am back on step 4 and going through all the steps again!
How do I go about diagnosing the issue? How is OpenId authentication supposed to work?
