help needed for taking the backup of site and to host the website

hie..everyone..well i am a newbie to the great world of drupal.However i have managed to develop a website that is fulfilling my requirements.
Well,i wanted to know how can i preview it,in the same way it will appear when published on net.?is there any way out?
Along with that i have got no clue of how to publish it on internet.i am having the domain name as well as booked the hosting for that on hostso.com .
Can u plz help me how should i go about it as in how should i take the back up of my website and host it.

Organic Groups

I go on with my database with historical facts but I don't know if it's possible to save dates with these formats:

1942
100 B.C. (Before Christ)
100 A.D. (Anno Domini)
5 Millionen years ago, etc

That's another thing that I'm not sure how to do.

after 1300

Any ideas?

Create a media archive?

Hi everyone!

I´m making a blog using Drupal and I´m doing some fast progress.
I got a problem though, a pretty big one, when I want to use a picture in a blog entry, I have to type in the "URL" of the picture.

Problem is that the picture does not have a URL yet, it´s on my computers harddrive! Since I´m using a localhost I guess that path would work for now, but not when the blog is on a real webserver.

How to Limit comments to a particular node within a content type

For example, in myblog posts, I only want to turn on/off the comments field for particular posts. I know I can enable or turn off posts for entire content types (e.g. page, story), but I want to control particulal nodes where I am looking for comment. Is there a module to help with this?

I need to have a text linked to an article on a bloc on the left, and of course it need to change when you select another article.

I have tried, view, panel, create specific ckk fields, and nothing works. I need help.

Case :
A node displayed in a page need to have an associated text which need to apprear in a bloc on the left.

Sample :
Node 1 : title Office rules. Body : The rules in our office are.... blablabla
Bloc left for node 1 : Handbook p.24 List of employees rules

I'm trying to create a custom form in my module. In this form, there will be an openlayers map and I am going to use openlayers_wkt_widget to create this map. But it seems that this widget needs a 'real' field/node in drupal database and I do not want to store this field in drupal database. So that, I create a fake field to work around.
