Week in DC Technology

With Labor Day right around the corner, this is unfortuantely the last "real" week of summer, and in tune with that, it is a pretty quiet one in Washington, DC. There are several interesting technology events schedules, with our picks below and a full listing over at DC Tech Events. Have a great week!

Monday, August 30th

12:30 - 2:00 pm

Technology Salon: OLPC in South America Update: Interested in hearing how the One Laptop Per Child project has advanced in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Peru since the program launched five years ago? This discussion will look at how the project is going specifically in South America, while also comparing it to implementations in Europe and Asia.

Tuesday, August 31

7:00 pm

Open Government Book Club: In its first ever get together, this group will discuss some of the big questions around open government as well as examples of open government today. Be prepared to talk about a future reading list as well.
