If you're into open data or Drupal, then it will be an interesting and potentially busy week for you with two events happening this week on both topics. There are also some fun meetups scheduled on start ups, mapping, and hacking. Below is a look at the events that we'll either attend or wish we could attend, and a full calendar is over at DC Tech Events.
Monday, May 10
12:30 - 2:00 pm
Open Data: Philanthropy’s Future Fuel For Change: What if communities, donors, journalists, and funders all could access grant information and see where the money was going and what it was creating? This rapid-fire brainstorming session will look into this and what else opening up data can do for philanthropy and dive into how to get there. It's also being webcast live.
7:00 - 900 pm
Drupal Meetup: Open Data + Drupal: One of the larger recent open data initiatives - Data.WorldBank.org - recently launched on Drupal. At this meetup, folks from the World Bank and the teams who built the technology will discuss what it's like to open up a large data set, why the website does what it does, and how it was made.
