I'm curious about the benefits of using Fusion rather than starting with another starter theme like Zen or Framework.
Right now I'm working off the Fusion Starter theme. This is what it seems, there are a few options for theming blocks - making text bold, 30px padding, a 1px border, choose columns, a few menu layout options, etc. Also it's nice how there is a visual of the available places to put blocks. There are only a few options for the overall theme like - grid style layout, font and font color, etc.
Some of those things are offered in Zen or Framework and some seem of minimal importance if I I'm going to have to use the local.css file to write simple styles for stuff like background-color or font-color anyway.
So is there a way to unleash more options within Fusion like background styles or font styles without overriding or writing new styles in the local.css? Maybe with an expander module?
I've done a little bit of research on this subject, but maybe someone can clarify or point me in the right direction. Or if this makes little sense I'll accept that too.
