I am a beginner at Drupal. I tried to install Drupal latest stable 6.19 on Windows Vista platform following instructions but installation stuck on username password and would not allow continuation.
I installed the older version 5.23 with no problem but get a deprecated erg() message.
and now on the view and edit warning:

It tells me I have errors and to look at status report but that hangs
System seems to be partially working anything I should be doing extra
I have another CMS installed that requires an updated PHP.
